Wie in dieser Woche bekanntgegeben, wird Apache UIMA aus dem Incubator zum Top-Level Projekt aufsteigen. Die UIMA Kernkomponenten wurden schon unter der Führung von IBM (damals noch alphaWorks) zu einem hohen Reifegrad hin entwickelt. Bis dato wird UIMA aber hauptsächlich in Forschung und Lehre eingesetzt, so bspw. bei der Universität Jena (JULIE Lab).

These are great news. I’m thinking back 3 years ago when starting a product development powered by UIMA were we had to implement scalability, communication and asynchronous execution by ourselves.
GLDV2007 ICE Presentation
This week, we went to Tübingen for presenting our IBM UIMA powered software called ICE (Intelligent Content Engineering) at the GLDV2007.
